This is something that Chantal and I will learn how to do and we will get out in the snow to practise Self-Arresting with an Ice Axe. With the accident on the PCT with Trevor in March 2020, we wanted to make sure we had an ice axe when we attempt Apache Peak, Fuller Ridge, Mt. San Jacinto, Mt Baden-Powell and when we hit the Sierras. Also when hiking the PCT and we get to a spot that is safe to practice some more we will… and we will let other hikers try if they around around us and don’t have their ice axe yet.
