Someone posted a photo from the Peter Grubb Hut that was built in 1938-39 by friends and family as a memorial to Peter Grubb, who had just graduated from Galileo High School in San Francisco and was on a bicycling tour of Europe when he died at the age of 18. Lots of hikers will stop and camp inside it for the night or spend a little time and relax inside.
I made a blog post to show the history of the Hut and also about Peter who it was dedicated to after his death.
The hut has a main room with a wood-burning stove, tables, and a kitchen area. An upstairs sleeping loft accommodates 15. Side rooms hold firewood and maintenance supplies. A two-story outhouse is 75′ WNW of the hut.

You can see from the graph above that the green line in the first week of Jan was higher than the black (this is the avg amt of snow for the last 15 years). 2017 the weather gods just shit a ton of snow by the blue line that is ridiculous. Will have to check in a couple of weeks and see where we are now with the snowpack. 2021 was a small snow year so travels into the Sierra was very easy with the snow and the height of the rivers to cross.
